What is a Safety Data Sheet?

A Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is a document that businesses use to provide information about a chemical substance to other businesses when shipping that chemical substance or product.
Globally, it is a document standardized by the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO1104-1).
